Eastern Hills Expedition is a local tour company that operates from Tanzania and the whole East Africa with a well extended global connection. Our headquarters are in Mwanza, Tanzania. We are offering full service, from information, booking and facilitation of safaris, mountain expedition, Cultural experience and beach holidays through out East Africa.

Serengeti witnesses mass migration of millions of hoofed and horned mammals, one of the “Wonders Of The Natural World” you must see if you bush travel in Africa. Incredibly vast Selous Game Reserve, the largest in Africa, is the size of Switzerland, Luxembourg and Cyprus together. Together, Tanzania holds a fifth of all the wildlife in on the entire continent.
Ruaha and Katavi are prime virgin and untouched wildlife destinations while Mount Kilimanjaro is highest stand-alone mountain in the world, where an East African expedition trek encompasses at least five climate zones on a trek from savannah and farmland, through tropical forest, heathland, alpine desert to glaciers at the roof of Africa.
Best time to Travel to Tanzania
Tanzania is located in the tropics so you can expect temperatures of 25 degrees C + throughout the year. It is possible to visit all year round, but the best time for weather is technically from May - September (high season) and October - April (Low season) when the weather is dry and the wildlife is prominent. The only time of year we would not recommend if you are looking at beach time on your honeymoon is in April and May when Tanzania experiences its main rainy season... Not very good for an Indian Ocean honeymoon!
However, if you are just looking at safari, are adventerous and on a tight budget, then rainy season can be extraordinary. Lots of new life roam the parks, the bushes are luscious green and it is a beautiful time to be in Tanzania... And the prices of amazing lodges are seriously slashed. However, there is a reason the prices are less - the wildlife is more dispersed so less easy to spot, it is raining and chances of getting stuck in the mud are increased! But for some, Tanzania's green season is an adventure like no other.
Our preferred time of year is in the shoulder season months or October and June. Here, you get reduced rates from high season as well as some fantastic special offers. In some cases, you can get exactly the same high season experience a few days into shoulder season and pay half the price! The wildlife is fantastic in these months and the parks quieter as it is just outside school holidays.
